Evangelist, Preacher, Teacher, Community Advocate, Worshipper, Minstrel, Author, Pastor but Most of all humble servant of God; Cornell C.S. Wheeler has been ordained and assigned to do them all. Just as the Prophet Jeremiah, Pastor Wheeler was called from birth to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and has traveled the world as an Evangelist. Pastor Wheeler was educated in the Oakland Unified School System and attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK.

Pastor Wheeler was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) on January 17, 2003, under the leadership of Bishop J.C. Jenkins, California Northeast Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Because of his Faithfulness, Pastor Wheeler served as Jurisdictional Department Coordinator and Jurisdictional Evangelist Department President.

Not only is Pastor Wheeler an accomplished preacher but he is also a Community Advocate who has shown great compassion for the Oakland/Bay Area by partnering with Greater Refuge C.O.G.I.C. and Desley Brooks City Councilwoman of District 6, to host one of the largest annual “Back to School Block Party” events in the city. Since its inaugural debut in the summer of 2008, this endeavor has positively impacted, over the years, the lives of more than 18,000 people, by providing free food, back to school supplies, health screenings, haircuts and hairstyles all for Free! Pastor Wheeler’s humanitarian efforts are ongoing; as he is also a member of The Pastors of Oakland Alliance, a group diligently working to keep the church and community connected while creating positive and sustainable change in the city. In addition to holding a membership with Pastors of Oakland Alliance, Pastor Wheeler is an active member of the N.A.A.C.P. Oakland chapter.

Pastor Wheeler attributes his knowledge and success in ministry to his biological and Spiritual Father, Reverend Carl L. Wheeler Sr., Pastor of Greater Refuge C.O.G.I.C., and his Mother Missionary Vera Wheeler, who have always exemplified a lifestyle of holiness. He is the father of three beautiful daughters whom he simply adores; Conteia, Chasity, and Caitlin Wheeler.

In July of 2007, with the leading and sanctioning of the Holy Ghost, Pastor Wheeler Organized Last Day Revival Ministries. In August of 2014, with much Prayer, Fasting, and seeking the face of God, Pastor Wheeler responded and accepted the task of Interim Pastor to help undergird and support Pastor Gordon Choyce Sr. and the Missionary Church of God in Christ in the City of Berkeley, California. After the retirement of Pastor Choyce, Pastor Wheeler continued to faithfully serve as interim pastor of Missionary Church.

On May 9, 2016, the Lord saw fit to touch the heart of Bishop J. W. Macklin, to appoint Cornell C. S. Wheeler as the new senior pastor of the Missionary Church of God in Christ. A year later, in 2017, Pastor Wheeler's father became ill and Jurisdictional Bishop Michael Johnson of the Northeast Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction sanctioned for Pastor Cornell C.S. Wheeler to be the interim Pastor of Greater Refuge Church of God in Christ.

Pastor Wheeler’s entire focus has been to transform lives through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Wheeler continues to walk in consecration and commitment to EMPOWER God’s people to strive to demonstrate God's love, reverence, his presence, blameless in our everyday living, loving and obedient in our worship, even so come Lord Jesus.
